Our Beliefs

Our beliefs are based on The Holy Bible. The Bible is God’s Holy Word. It uniquely and infallibly reveals God’s plan for his people and how to live out that plan, individually and corporately. Beliefs, practices, priorities and our mission are anchored in clear biblical teachings.

We believe that there is only one true God who is the eternal King, Creator, and Redeemer of all that is. He is perfectly holy, just, loving, and truthful. He has revealed Himself to be eternally self-existent – one being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God.

We believe that humankind was created in the image of God to know and enjoy Him, yet we willfully rejected the Lordship and glory of God for which we were intended. Because of this, sickness, death, and judgment entered the world and now creation experiences the effects and consequences of sin.

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is God’s Anointed One, empowered by the Holy Spirit to inaugurate God’s kingdom on earth. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected and ascended into heaven, and is now alive today in the presence of God the Father and in His people. He is “true God” and “true man.”

We believe that we are saved by God’s grace, through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Anyone can be restored to fellowship with God through repenting, believing, and receiving Jesus as their Savior and Lord. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, and adopts us as we enter the kingdom of God as His sons and daughters. We believe in the ongoing, sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life and minister super-naturally. The Holy Spirit, according to Acts 1:4-8 and 2:4, is poured out on believers that they might have God’s power to make disciples.

We believe in the victorious, redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the power of the enemy – sin, lies, sickness, and torment.

We believe that the Church consists of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ. He gave His Church the ordinances of baptism and communion. The Church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God’s love, and discipling the nations – baptizing and teaching them to love and obey God.

We believe in the ever-increasing government of God and in the Blessed Hope, which is the glorious, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to rule and reign with His overcoming bride – the Church.

We believe that heaven and hell are real places. There will be a resurrection of the lost and the saved, the one to everlasting death and the other to everlasting life.

Our Values

We are: God Directed, Replication Obsessed, Apostolically Spirited, Locally Directed and Kingdom Committed.

Power of the Holy Spirit:

Like Jesus, everything we do must be rooted in prayer. We can only reach our communities if we love them, and we can only love them if we pray for them. Everything that really matters gets launched with prayer, fasting, and worship. As we become more aware of and anchored in the unseen, we grow in power, authority, and fruitfulness. We encourage all gifts and manifestations of the Holy Spirit to be activated in a “naturally Supernatural” way.

Compassionate Engagement:

Compassionate ministry in Christ’s name emerges out of personal and corporate prayer for a community or people group. This compassionate ministry can take many forms such as food distribution, addiction recovery services, sports ministry, etc. We don’t meet needs just so people will come to Jesus. We meet people’s needs because we have come to Jesus!

Finding People of Peace:

Jesus told his followers to search for welcoming people or “persons of peace” when they entered a new community. (Matthew 10:11; Luke 10:5-6) Disciple Making Movements begin with these key individuals who are doorways to share the Good News of Christ with their families, friends, and communities.

Gathering Disciples to Hear and Obey God’s Word:

When people open to the message of Christ are found, they are gathered to read, hear, and obey God’s word, using a simple small group format known as Discovery Bible Study (DBS). In a DBS or Discovery Group, the goal is to immediately obey God’s Word. As people respond to God’s Word and apply it to their lives they learn to trust God and in time totally surrender their lives to Christ. Because the focus of the groups is simply hearing and obeying the Bible, expert teachers are not needed and new groups can quickly begin as new disciples share what they have learned with their friends and family. As new groups multiply, churches are formed by the new baptized followers.

Mentoring New Believers and Leaders:

Justas we see Jesus do in the Gospels and Paul do in the rest of the New Testament, new followers of Jesus are relationally mentored to grow and become leaders and, in turn, leaders of leaders.

Our Culture:

Our team is made up of ordinary people. We are not showy or flashy. We have been forged in a blue collar town and lifestyle. Therefore, we are committed to equipping everyone, not just the “superstars” or culturally “elite.”We have been described as prayerful, worshipful, entrepreneurial, constantly evolving, diverse, and courageous. We offer ourselves as evidence that God uses the unqualified when we are willing to follow Jesus. We equip “ordinary” people to make an impact where they live, work, play, and learn.

Our Mission & Vision

MISSION:

Genesis believes that the only way to complete the Great Commission is for ordinary people to multiply disciples in their natural networks of friends and family.

Genesis exists to accelerate the completion of the Great Commission from New Castle, PA to the nations by empowering individuals to unleash Disciple Making Movements that foster a lifestyle of personal discovery of God’s will in His Word, immediate obedience and a consistent pattern of passing on what they are learning within their circles of influence.

Our passion is to mobilize disciples that make disciples, resulting in churches that plant churches.

VISION:

To catalyze and coaching disciple making movements everywhere. Disciple Making Movements are based on simple, Biblical principles. Making obedient disciples of Christ who gladly make more disciples is the core focus of the vision that the Lord has given us.

What begins slowly produces incredible fruit, and unbelievable results as movements accelerate over time. As the numbers increase, the impact for God’s kingdom multiplies, transforming lives, families, communities and nations (Mt. 13:31-33).

It’s an approach that involves each disciple of Christ being obedient within his or her network of influence in a way that engages the lost. We are committed to sending EVERYONE as a missionary.

Below is our process to multiply disciples and churches everywhere:
